Description: Condition Continued: The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. Excellent binding. The interior of the book is in exceptional condition. The pages are very clean. Scrolling through, I haven't found any instances of soiling. There is a vertical crease on the first of the two blank front end papers. It does not carry over to any of the other pages. I didn't see any conspicuous creasing on the pages. No placeholder creases. All of the illustrations appear to be in terrific condition. There is no foxing anywhere. Between the frontispiece and the title page there is a tissue guard that is in excellent condition. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The Century Co., New York, 1896. Hardcover. Edited with a Preface by John C. Van Dyke. This may be a first edition (SD, The Century Co.= SD, '1889, 1892, 1894, 1896' on the copyright page, 1896 on the title page).
