Description: Listed is one Motorola PT300 VHF Hi Railroad radio with “Engineering Dept.” inscribed on the telephone handset microphone. This radio is used but functions well. The radio is powered by 3 6 volt lantern type batteries (not included). The radio is a two channel model with railroad frequencies 161.415 (AAR Channel 87), and 161.205 (AAR Channel 73) installed by crystals. The frequencies can only be changed by swapping crystals. If you have a source for crystals the frequencies can be changed. I have powered up the radio and tested it for receiving (see video) from both the handset and the built in speaker. I would not recommend this radio for transmitting unless you are licensed. The radio is approximately a 1970’s model from an unknown railroad. The top portion of the power switch is missing, however I can operate the switch by hand and is functional (see photo). The lantern batteries pictured will not be shipped with the radio in order to keep the shipping at a lower cost.
