Description: 2.77 Rio Grande 40 foot boxcar "Palmer Lake" DRGW 69785 If buyer purchases 4 different numbers they will receive the cars in a Micro-Trains factory shrink-wrapped set This a Rio Grande 40 foot boxcar with roof walk completely manufactured by Micro-Trains. Only 150 of each car were produced. The first car is number 7 of the Joint Line Series and NSC special run number 02-77. In 1918 the USRA combined the tracks between Denver and Pueblo to form the Joint Line. "Palmer Lake" is the second in a series honoring the trains and stations of the Joint Line. Palmer Lake, located just south of the high point on the Joint Line was named for William J. Palmer, founder of the D&RG Railroad. The cars were manufactured in February 1942 by the Pressed Steel Car Company. The car is "Grande Gold" over silver with a black stripe and black printing. The ends are black with white printing. The car received this beautiful paint scheme when it was shopped at the company's Burnham shops in Denver in March of 1959 designated by the BHM 3-59 lettering. The car has prototypical end printing. This car was released in 2002 and has reached a high auction value of $38.00.
