Description: This is a often played and well maintained National Steel Tricone with a Lollar Gold foil pickup with 1/4" jack and volume control. It is extremely comfortable guitar to play and I will miss it. The discoloration is due to a combination of arm and hand friction and natural aging/very light surface oxidation. I believe 2000 was the first year they made all steel non nickel plated tricones. I have not been able to pin this down exactly so it could have been 1999 but as you can see it has a very low serial number.Body - SteelNeck - MahoganyFingerboard - EbonyNut - BoneHeadstock - SlottedTuners - NationalBody Finish - Rubbed SteelNeck Finish - Nitro LacquerCase - National Deluxe HardshellNut Width - 1.82"String Spacing E-E - 2.31"Body Depth - 3.125"Scale Length - 25 21/32"Fingerboard Radius - 16"Weight - 8 Lbs 14 oz. the following is from National Guitar Company website:Our NRP Steel Tricone features the classic styling of the vintage Tricones but with a special sound. The tone of the steel body offers a deeper, darker voice — yet with more immediacy and presence. And it still boasts all the amazing sustain and rich choral tone the Tricones are famous for. Inside, the NRP Steel Tricone features the same type of aluminum resonating cones and T-bridge as the original models. The mahogany neck features an bound ebony fingerboard with dot inlays, while the traditional slotted headstock has “NATIONAL” stamped on it. If you’re seeking a Tricone with a bit more blues feel to it, the NRP Steel guitar has it in spades.Current models have unbound fretboards.
