Description: Here we have an amazing hand made Navajo Silver and Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace Circa 1840-1910. This amazingly crafted silver beaded turquoise stone necklace is in remarkable shape and has been taken care of throughout its time. One thing to note about the necklace is that it is unsinged. The necklace is adorned with a total of 17 beautifully picked natural turquoise stones. Each side of the necklace is built with 5 turquoise stones across the beaded chain and 7 stones on the ‘squash blossom’ pendant/amulet. Each setting of turquoise stone is encased on a silver plate containing a silver raised ring setting holding the stone with a surrounding rope like texture design. The stones on the necklace chain have adjacent outward 3-sided protruding silver petals, 5 on each side. The silver ‘bead-lines’ are doubled from the blossom pendant up until 3 beads past the 5th stone on up, which then becomes a single row of silver beads until the clasps instead of double. Each bead has a walnut-like design, being larger at the middle-point. The necklace uses a hook clasp. On the right side, first stone closest to the pendant on the chain is a slight imperfection in the stone setting, the inside white cushioning is slightly exposed. Measurements: The full length of the necklace from clasp end to clasp end is 25 inches The length of the necklace while closed is 16 inches Each turquoise stone is roughly 3/4 of an inch in size.
