NIB sealed LOTR FOTR Samwise (Sam) Gamgee 1:6 scale Sideshow collectible figure

Description: Here is a rare Samwise (Sam) Gamgee figure in its original sealed box, modeled after the Sam played by Sean Astin in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. His face and clothing are wonderfully detailed, and this set also includes essentials for his journey including cookware, a bag, flask, and sword. The box is cleverly designed with front flaps that open up so you can see the items without removing them. The top and bottom flaps of the box still have their original clear plastic seals intact. There is one small spot on the edge of one flap that's slightly smushed (see closeup photo). Please note that the front flaps are designed to stay closed with small velcro dots, but some of the dots have detached as apparently the glue deteriorated with age. The box shows a copyright date of 2008 (as MMVIII), which is puzzling as I recall getting it at either the ELF convention in 2006 or Dragon*Con in 2007. Looking closely at his clothes, I noticed one button missing from his vest. At first I assumed this was intentional (as of course the Fellowship went through a lot), but it might be a manufacturing defect. The front of the box has a gold "Sideshow Exclusive" sticker and a very small sticker that says "In Association with Hot Toys." This was produced under license from New Line, Inc.
