Description: C557B Stanley No. 4 Hand Plane - Smoothing Plane - Refurbished - C557B Stanley Works & Ready To Use The sole has been lapped to ensure flatness, rust removed on body and plane irons, screws and bolts cleaned, tote & handle shellacked. Plane iron sharpened and takes thin crisp shavings (note photo of board with smooth surface left by plane). Back of plane iron has also been lapped for uniformity of cutting edge, and tips of iron slightly cambered to reduce plane tracks. Original crack in handle repaired, bolt on chip breaker slightly bent. These however do not affect the plane's effectiveness.
