The Cable is a preconfigured with fixed ends, theoretically that means it's not editable. Cables were supplied by Total Length and Housing Length then Color. The Cable has the important Crimped End inner Cable and Shifter End Cap that goes into the shifter, it has Housing , then Open Cable to the End Barrel. The Cable Requires a Shifter, a Fulcrum Clip, a Pulley Clip, Gear indicator, and Hub that are NOT Included. Your Buying the Redesigned " Cable Only As Shown ". I am pretty sure these Cables are for Common 26" 3 speed Raleigh Tourists Bicycles, But Measure To Be Sure. The size adjustments can be made by where you put the Fulcrum Clip and Pulley Clip, both Clips Not Included. Tips: You can Clip off the barrel end to Reconstruct the cable but that ruins that end and now you have to use a common Bolt On Anchor Barrel End. In most cases you cannot replace the housing because the rubber coating of the exposed part of the cable will not go through the housing. If your doing this much editing you should be using a new cable at this point. New: Sturmey Archer Cable. This Cable is how it is offered now, as a replacement, and editable to what ever length you like. The Cable has the important Crimped End inner Cable and Shifter End Cap that goes into the shifter, The Housing is approximately 56" or 1420mm and the inner cable is longer. Cable and Housing is Cut to Length, Make sure You Measure Twice and Cut Once. If cable is run all the way it to the Hub it will require a Shifter, a Rear Chain-stay Fulcrum Clip, Cable Clamps, Gear indicator, and Hub that are NOT Included. If you Run it the Old School Vintage Way, it Requires a Shifter, a Fulcrum Clip, a Pulley Clip, Gear indicator, and Hub that are NOT Included. Connection is Completed with Bolt On Anchor Barrel End that is included. The Sturmey Archer Bolt On Anchor Barrel End is Nicer than the one included on the cheaper import version. New: Import Cable. This Cable is New Import, It is Not Officially Sturmey Archer, it is a replacement, and editable to what ever length you like. Gear indicator Not included but sold separately as an option. New Indicator Chains & Clips: There are Basically 2 sizes in the Vintage Sturmey Archer Hub World. Short Axles use a Mark 1 and Long Axles use a Mark 2. Both can work in either axle but if you use the wrong size the axle nut indicator window does not work for adjustment. There are other indicator chains for some of the rare and unique hubs that we do not have.
