NOS VTG 1950s-60s Crown Scissor Band Stainless 16mm 5/8" Straight Ends

Description: Vintage Crown Brand Scissor Expansion Watchband Stainless Steel New Old Stock Made In USA As vintage watch collectors, we recently purchased a hoarde of 1950's - 60's New Old Stock Crown brand stainless steel expansion watch bands and have more than we will ever use and have decided to pass a few on to other collectors. All are in perfect brand new condition. This particular band is one of my personal favorites for restoring the 1960's Elgin Sportsman, early 1950's Bulovas and other wrist watches from this era. Many watches in the late 50's to mid 1960's came on leather bands and were upgraded to expansion at time of purchase, so these are period correct and handsome. It is a satin finish with a polished long triangle extending 10 links from either attachment end on top caps as seen. Band is 5" long, which was pretty standard in the day. I have a 7" wrist and it fits me on a Elgin Sportsman (1.65" lug to lug) with slight expansion and is comfortable. If your wrist is about 6.75" this should be a perfect fit. When it comes to our collection, we are purists when replacing a worn out or missing original band. In the past, we have patiently waited up to a year to find just the right quality vintage band for a watch; now you don't have to search and wait. If you own a 1957 show quality Cadillac, you don't put tires made in China on it. That's just wrong. The same goes for vintage watches. Attention to detail ups presentation from "that's nice" to "Wow, that's beautiful!" It also increases the value of the watch! "Twist-o-flex" bands were not introduced until 1959. Any watch produced before that sold on a expansion band was on a scissor. They were used widely into the mid 1960's.
