Description: Fouquieria splendens is a fantastic semi-woody succulent that grows in the southwest, and is a great landscaping plant. These are grown from seed acquired near Tucson. Plant as soon as you receive these, and soak down the canes and roots well. Water every 3 days and spray down the canes also. Plant in a quick draining, coarse cactus mix. PLEASE NOTE: This plant will be sent bare-root, because the weight of the soil will just destroy the plant. Plant it and spray it down as soon as it arrives and it will be ok. You can leave these out of the soil for about ten days with no problems at all. It WILL arrive with some yellow leaves, but they regrow very quickly. Don't be alarmed when some of the leaves are yellow, and are falling off! The plant you will receive will be a minimum of 6" to 12" tall, and have multiple arms. See the pictures for examples. You will receive a plant similar to what is shown! These are currently in gallon pots, but could be moved up to a larger pot with no problem. Don't be alarmed if it arrives with yellowing leaves! These will perk back up very quickly when watered. NOTE: If you are thinking of growing these from cuttings.......DON'T.....just don't waste your money. Less than 50% of the cuttings will root, and they will take a year or so to start growing again! Trust me, if growing them from cuttings was feasible, everyone would be doing it! All plants are sent bare root, unless noted. If you need heat packs, we have them in our store, just add to your cart.
