Description: For sale we have a beautiful original crude, hammered with whittle rich shaded green Mason's Patent Nov. 30th 1858 fruit or canning jar. The color is a nice shaded lite to medium bright apple, grass or a forest green. The color is darker in the thick parts of the glass. This beauty is hammered with whittled throughout the entire jar. This jar also has crude pebbled glass with swirl lines throughout the entire jars surface. This is a window jar to say the least and it looks better in person. This is an impressive looking jar with a great look and visual appearance. This is a fresh to the market example in untouched condition. The embossing is sharp and bold with large protruding letters and numbers. The lip is ground and very thin and in great condition. We see some in the making flat thin chipping on the inside of the lip. The zinc lid is a later Atlas zinc lid with no issues. The base is plain with no embossing. The jars condition is excellent with no cracks, deep scratches, scuffs or heavy stains. We only see some scattered very thin and lite usage wear lines and some heavy base wear. There is a bit of washable content in the base area. This jar has not been dug, cleaned or altered. This is a looker with a different color that looks good inside or outside with the crude glass and heavy whittling. Hopefully our pictures do this beautiful jar justice.
