But in the new ballpark, he and fellow pitcher Sandy Koufax helped make the team one of the strongest in the National League; he set a major league record (since eclipsed by Orel Hershiser) for consecutive scoreless innings pitched. Drysdale, the outspoken former pitcher, who was a radio-TV commentator and broadcaster for the Dodgers before his untimely death, admits to using brushback pitches and the spitball. Drysdale's observations on the contemporary game and its players are scathing. Drysdale won 209 games in his Dodger career and is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. This is his story. There is some minor edge wear on the top and bottom of the spine, but this book is still in EXCELLENT condition.
