Description: THIS IS A VERY RARE FULLY BEADED KLAMATH BASKET HAT. AVAILABILITY IS ONCE IN A LIFETIME. DON'T MISS IT! This beautiful late 1800s to early 1900s Northern California fully beaded basket hat is from the Klamath Indian Tribe. A very old tag (early 1900s) identifies it as being part of the "Thompson Collection - #2587- Northern California - Rare. This tag appears to have been from an auction and based on the tag and the writing we are placing this tag perhaps in the 1920's. This hat measures approximately 6-1/2" to 7" across and approximately 4" high. Please review the photos are they are a large part of the description. The beadwork depicts what appears to be deer on the top and possibly salmon around the rest of the hat. Geometric patterns are what is usually seen when you can find one of these hats, not animal figures. There are several brown bodied "salmon" around this hat that are not beaded on every stitch. It appears to have been made this way on purpose as apposed to beads being missing although we cannot guarantee that. All basket weaving is intact. No rips or tears. This hat is coming from a smoke free home and will be well packaged and shipped in a 10x10x10 shipping box using all new packing materials. It will be shipped USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail with standard insurance and tracking, your choice. Thank you for looking!
