Description: From a 2024 Maine auction, this is a signed, original painting on hardboard that appears to be done in oil, or possibly acrylic. I've not been able to identify the location depicted or the artist. With a brushy painting technique and rich colors, it shows a large home and out buildings on the edge of town with open fields behind it. On the reverse, this is marked in ballpoint pen: "Prop Chester Gadsby." I was able to find out that this owner had a summer home in Maine and he died in 2022. The painting is set in a deeply carved, wooden frame which was made in Taiwan. The frame is in very good condition, but there are light stains on the natural linen inner frame.
