This piece was matted and framed at one time and there is a small tear on top of the sheet where there is still some tape left behind from when they removed it from the frame. There is also a small puncture on the top left just below the tape. These two minor flaws are on the top margin and does not affect the artwork. The colors are still vibrant and under different angles of light, you can see the different stages of the stencil layer pigmentation and hues. BiographyPaul Klee, a Swiss-born painter, printmaker and draughtsman of German nationality, was originally associated with the German Expressionist group Der Blaue Reiter, and subsequently taught at the Bauhaus, the widely influential German art school of the interwar period. Klee's diverse body of work cannot, however, be categorized according to any single artistic movement, or "school." His paintings, which are at times fantastic, childlike, or otherwise witty, served as an inspiration to the New York School, as well as many other artists of the 20th century.
