Pentax K1000 Film Camera with some lenses, filters, case and more!

Description: I’m old, I knew this day would come, but at one time I was a young college student who took a photography class. I signed up for a photography class because my parents let me choose my major and it was Art, so naturally I gravitated towards classes that would in no way prepare me for life. My grandfather was a hobby photographer and I remember looking at the few pictures we had of his and he did some really cool double exposure things, like a pic of himself handing himself a cigarette, tricks done in a darkroom, which for you young people was a room that was dark with only a red light where you took your negative film and produced the image on paper and it was a whole process that would put you to sleep if I explained it all to you. I even used to develop my own black and white film, I thought I was so cool. I spent so much money on film, filters and paper that I knew the people who worked at the camera store by name. You know what is hard to find now? a camera store. I didn’t even own the type of camera required for this class, oh I had owned all kinds of cameras up until then but for this class you had to have a camera with the ability to manual focus. My dad and I went to Target, at one time all the stores sold film cameras, the dinosaurs were long dead and not everyone had a cell phone. At Target, we bought a Pentax K1000 manual focus camera. It was vintage looking before it was even really old enough to be vintage, they were made from the mid 70’s to the late 90’s. I was the only person in the class with a K1000, everyone else had brand new Canon Rebels which were auto focus with the ability to be manual focus, I felt poor. Those other people took terrible photos, they relied on the auto focus and some of the assignments they struggled with because they never felt confident using the manual functions. I aced the class, I really loved it, I thought at one time I would be a professional photographer, I even quit my job at the mall to work with the photographer on the college campus. Turns out, when forced with the stress and responsibility of taking photos for a living, what was an enjoyable hobby was no longer enjoyable. Film became obsolete and even digital cameras were replaced with cameras that also work as phones! I think I bought this in 1992 which would make this camera 31 years old, so it is truly vintage now. I held onto this Pentax K1000 because I still think it’s cool but I’m ready to get rid of things I know I will never use again. It obviously has been used, but I kept good care of it, the lenses have always had protective filters on them at all times. There’s some wear marks on the camera body and body case, camera case, lenses as well as some dust on pretty much everything. Nothing is broken, there's no corrosion in the battery compartment of the camera or the flash. Here’s what is in this bundle. 1-Pentax K1000 camera with Pentax strap1- SMC Pentax-A 1:2 50 mm Lens with a haze filter attached to it, this reduces haze and protects the lens, also there is a Pentax lens cap1- Black body case, does not appear to be leather but does have a leather look. It screws into the tripod mount on the bottom of the camera and then a cover that protects the lens snaps onto it. It is easily and quickly removed if you want to use the tripod mount. It looks super cool and I bought it when I bought the camera and it has stayed on the camera since that day. You do have to remove it to access the battery of the light meter.1-SMC Pentax-A 1:4.7-5.6 80-200 lens with Tiffen Sky1-A filter, which protects the lens. I bought protectors for all my lenses.1- Kalimar K215 PKA/KR 2X Automatic Teleconverter, with protective bag, instructions and the box. This doubles the focal length of any lens. You attach it to the camera, then the lens attaches to it, you have to adjust your exposure when using it.1-Vivitar Auto Thyristor 2800 Flash, uses 2 AA batteries, not included. 1- Nikkormat shutter release cable. You screw it into the shutter release and you can trigger the shutter without touching the camera so you don’t have to worry about accidentally shaking the camera causing a blurry image if you are using a really long exposure.1- Kodak Photolife KS76 battery. New still in package. I have no idea if this battery it still good, it’s old, but I’m throwing it in. You can still take photos without using the battery, it operates the light meter but it’s not required to use the camera.1- nickel, that is used to turn the battery cover so you can install the battery in the camera. It was in the box, so it belongs with the camera.1- Tiffen 49mm Red lens filter, this is used to enhance contrast in images when using black and white film. 1- lens end cap belonging to the 50mm lens that is on the camera1- spare filter case, would fit the Haze filter on the 50mm lens or the Sky filter on the 80-200mm lens if you choose to remove those.1-black with red interior camera bag/case with strap. There is a blemish on the top of the case. The strap is damaged (see image) but could be repaired by a shoe repair place most likely. The pull tab on the zipper used to have a leather nub on it that is no longer there. Also the Goodwill where I purchased it wrote the price on the underside of the lid on the red part with a marker, apparently I paid $6.88 for it. It was in very used condition when I bought it, but to me it matched the vintage look of the camera, even though I usually used a more modern padded camera bag most of the time. There are other people selling K1000’s cameras and nearly everything else that I have with this bundle if you want to do some more research. I have at one time used every thing in this bundle.
