I have a collection of Original LeRoy Neiman's that at one time was in the hundreds of hundreds ... Femlin's & Acrylics (long since sold) & Serigraphs (some go way way back to the very first Serigraphs) ... that have been in my family for decades. It's time to sell what is left. Reasonable offers will be considered. These are already priced at auction levels, as I have bought and sold Neiman's for 35+ years and my father before me. My ratings on eBay are perfect ! I satisfy every customer !! You will find, should you research, most opening bids for a simple Femlins “start” at $800 to $1,500 plus shipping and additional Gallery fees (usually 25%). What I present here is the balance of the collection. We sell to individuals, Galleries who resell and I’ve seen our art pieces put online as dealers can be in the flipping business. I do not do that. Most of what you see listed by me is from my father’s collection, stemming from what I am explaining below. I have held ownership of the majority of these pieces for decades. I've been a collector and seller of Neiman's pieces for over 40 years and have dealt with hundreds and hundreds of his art pieces. I met Mr. Neiman multiple times as a young boy as he dined in my father’s restaurant and then again during my corporate life when Neiman designed his first ever garment, a jacket for the Nuveen Challenge (a Senior Tennis Tour founded by Jimmy Conners). I was President of the Owners Council of Choice Hotels (North America) and served on their board for 11 years in a Senior Capacity, as President for two terms - the voice of 3,000 franchisees of their many brands. Quality Inns was the major sponsor of Mr. Connors' event, and my wife won the Pro Am as Jimmy's partner. Yes, lots of history. My father was the original pastry vendor to the "very first" Playboy Club/s/ and because of that relationship acquired many of these Femlin's and some Acrylics. The opening GM (Arnie Morton, who went on to develop Morton's Steakhouse and whose son Peter, the founder of Hard Rock) for the Chicago Club was a dear friend of my dad and wanted dads’ desserts in the Clubs as Hefner wanted the very best of everything. Dad owned and operated a highly successful South Side Chicago landmark restaurant for years in Beverly, The Surrey Restaurant (https://chuckmanchicagonostalgia.wordpress.com/2010/04/09/the-surrey-restaurant-c1950/). Many dignitaries dined there including Mayor Daley, LeRoy Neiman, Hugh Hefner, Senator Everett Dirksen, amongst others. Dad was considered to be the inventor of the salad bar (1949) as he saw it as a way to take the stress off the kitchen (everyone seem to want more of one thing and less of another on their salad) and produce in that era was considered a throw away item ie the more lettuce you ate the less of the entree you wanted, as an over simplified theory ... and by (honestly) mistake, it promoted tremendous price/value to his customers. The salad bar was in place till he closed in late 1972. When he died in 1992, the Chicago Tribune featured him in their paper as the inventor of the salad bar. During my corporate life I served as the President of the Owners Council at Choice Hotels Int’l., the speaking voice of over 3,000 licenses in North America, under 7 brands, traveling in excess of 150,000 miles annually, as a volunteer. As President for 2 terms, voted unanimously by my peers to hold the office and on their board for 11 years, in senior capacity’s. It was during this time I really got to know Neiman. Jimmy Conners was putting together his vision of a Senior Tennis Tour (called the Nuveen Challenge) and the major sponsor to Jimmy’s event was Quality Inns – US & Canada. As a favor to Conners, Neiman designed his first ever garment to celebrate the kickoff of that event. I have several, all signed by Neiman. Later, Neiman designed one for Muhammad Ali (as he got jealous that Conners got one and he didn’t, and Neiman loved boxing as you might remember from his involvement in the Rocky movies). Those are the only two garments ever designed by Neiman in his lifetime. I have 2 of the Ali jackets but they are as of yet, not for sale and they are not signed. They are in perfect condition, having never really been worn. Mr. Neiman gave them to me. Without getting into my own background, but feel free to ask, I’d be happy to send you a copy of my bio ... this is an amazing family history of very successful individuals and a host of predominantly medical professionals throughout the Chicagoland area for over 100+ years. I've met most all the dealers, auctions, gallery owners, brokers, etc ... and I know what these pieces bring in well located Galleries in New York, London, San Francisco, etc ... and I also know what they bring at auction. I'm only looking to get auction prices in most examples. I have some prize pieces which I won't budge on, for all the obvious reasons. This is a fair auction price and a steal for what they are priced for in a Gallery. This piece could go for $2,500 to $20,000+ in a prime Gallery location as art has the same markup as jewelry. As I’ve stated earlier, opening online bids for Femlins generally begin at $1,000 for a normal piece, plus shipping and Gallery fees of 25%. If anything, I have these underpriced as I’ve retired, no children … it’s time for others to own these beauties and for me to put my estate in order and not leave this task to others to handle on my behalf, who perhaps do not have my knowledge of Neiman as it literally has been a lifelong journey. These works of art were on display at Tim DeWine's Gallery in Chicago and were meeting with great success until his untimely death. Tim looked at each one of these and certified them to be the real deal. Tim was the # 1 LeRoy Neiman salesperson worldwide for 17 consecutive years !! He issued COA's on each one that he sold. He was starting the completion of all COA's for every piece when he suddenly died. Tired of the run around from Gallery’s pre-Covid … I looked at eBay as a vehicle to sell these off and have met with great success. My ratings are perfect, and I have a strong following of buyers worldwide. From the US, UK, Spain, Italy, France, China to New Zealand and everywhere in-between. Shipping quote is to the lower US 48 however I can ship worldwide through the eBay System. If the piece is going to the NE US i.e. New York etc ... There will be a surcharge of up to $25 to $100 (depending on the piece) additional, due to what FedEx passes on to me. Shipping to New England & parts of California is incredibly expensive. All overseas shipments, eBay handles that through their Global Shipping Network and I do not control that pricing, I ship to their distribution center in KY per their international shipping requirements and eBay handles it from there. While my shipping prices appear high … we take as much care & expense in shipping a $500 item as we do a $5,000 item. The difference in our costs is simply the cost of insurance. What eBay charges on international shipments is completely outside my control. Shipping is high due to insurance and signature confirmation. I only use FedEx. In over 1,000 shipments, I've had 6 claims. FedEx settles like clockwork. Shipments most times must be separate piece by piece, as FedEx only insures art to $1,000. Everything is shipped out of the Tampa Bay area and must be personally signed for (insurance requirement per FedEx). All items are professionally packed by pro's. Some pieces are located in the Chicago area ... the listing will tell you that. If you are close to Tampa (where most pieces are located) or Chicago … you are welcome to pick the item up or make arrangements to meet. You can't get a better deal than this. Please feel free to contact me through the eBay system for additional information. Most of the Femlin's come from the mid 1950’s through the late 1980's … to the best of my knowledge. 90% of the provenance of these items are from my family (dad). However, I added to the collection in a very big way once I got to know Neiman personally. I state that answer, when asked that question, as to a specific piece. COA’s unless otherwise noted are provided by me and are only sent when requested. They follow 6 weeks behind the shipping of the item purchased. Since I do not charge for them, I fit them in when my workload is lower than normal. They are meant to be for insurance purposes/credibility, as art insurance, as a rider to your homeowners, is the best value in the insurance marketplace … Why, simple, it’s hard to fence an original piece of art. The only stupid question is the one not asked … please feel free to ask me anything … I’ve been doing this for 35+ years and my eBay ratings are perfect … with the exception of those who believe I should ship for free.
