Description: Quality Vintage 1/4" Ward&Payne firmer carpentry chisel. It has 'Aristocrat' on the blade front which means in 1959 it won the prestigious Design Centre Award by H.R.H the Duke of Edinburgh. It's made with a screwed steel shaft with a steel cap fitted through the handle into the socket to absorb shock, preventing damage to the handle. It has it's original sturdy beech handle secured by a steel cap stamped with the maker's name and patent no: 30861. It's 11inches in length and weighs approx 210g. This is in fantastic original condition and really sharp, ready to use!
