NOT Mattel, but I personally describe this doll as FLAT BARBIE, or ANTI-BARBIE Doll! Designed by Ideal’s Harvey Hank Kramer, it only sold from 1969-1973, with odd television commercials in the U.S. Imitations came later, but only the original dolls have the oval on the back with IDEAL. 3 sizes were sold, this is the especially hard to find TALL FLATSY — which came in 4 vivid hair colors with rooted eyelashes, and unusual feet shaped like boots. Dale is the TALL FLATSY doll with bright blue hair, breasts, and blue eyes with blue pupils. She is wearing her long pink coat and 1 red shoe. Maybe the psychedelic U.S. 1960s were responsible, but this wildly imaginative, FLATTENED, pancaked version of the iconic Mattel Barbie is beyond funny! 50 years later, she is a star in any complete Barbie collection.
