Description: Measuring 16" in diameter, this large Thomas Edison Bronze Plaque was designed by the master engraver John Ray Sinnock (July 8, 1888 - May 14, 1947), who was the eighth Chief Engraver of the United States Mint from 1925-1947. Struck by the Medallic Art Company of New York, this large Plaque was designed for the Light's Golden Jubilee held on October 21, 1929 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Thomas Edison's invention of the light bulb. It happened just days before the stock market crash of 1929, The Sinnock logo is marked on the bottom right side and "Edison" is embossed on the left.
