Description: This listing is for a vintage advertising fan dated approximately mid-1930s based on the style. It is very similar to another Putnam Dyes fan dated 1934 (listed separately). This is an attractive fan. We apologize for the image quality. We were having technical issues while photographing with a phone. The fan front advertises Putnam Fadeless Dyes & Tints (trademark) with a color lithograph of E.Gen. Israel Putnam. The caption says "Escaping the British Dragoons". The fan back says Compliments of Warner Drug Co. Nashville, Tenn. The back has advertisements -- text and line drawings -- of Putnam dyes and tints. It also advertises Putnam Dry-Cleaner, available from Monroe Chemical Co., Quincy, Illinois. No manufacturer is indicated, but it says "Printed in U.S.A." in back lower right corner. The fan is in reasonably good condition for its age. There is wear around the edges, and the paper has expected age-related discoloration. Note small folds at upper and lower corners. The lower right corner has a light diagonal crease from lower edge toward the right edge. There is a small area of paper loss at the lower right edge of the back where the printing information is located. Staples have remarkably little oxidation. Wood is not cracked or broken. See photos. Ruler not included in this listing. We will combine shipping on items that close within three (3) days of each other. Please send a message if you are bidding/watching multiple items so we can arrange an invoice. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
