Description: For purchase is a rare Royal Copenhagen hand painted rose and leaf vase. The vase is date marked to 1961, is 8 1/4" high and 4 1/4" across from handle to handle and is fully marked with correct Royal Copenhagen marks. Besides the superb hand painted roses and leaves wreathed on both sides of the vase, the vase has thick, heavy gilding. The gilding is bright and shiny on the majority of the vase, except at the base of the handles where the gold is burnished and satiny. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There are some small surface scratches to the gold at the top rim and on the bottom base. None of this is distracting. This is a wonderful piece of Royal Copenhagen porcelain.
