Description: According to the Ingle Ledger, these tokens were among the first minted 1914 Ingles, and were shipped directly to Bainbridge, GA in 1914. This is the “Star” variety, with a star at 6:00 on the obverse. This token retains 95% of the nickel plating, missing only on the tops of some of the legend. According to the Sept 30, 1908 Constitution (Atlanta, GA) newspaper, a number of misdemeanor convicts were being employed by companies, including Ball Naval Stores (manufacturer of) “Turpentine”.
