Description: Rare! Wild Betta Hybrids from the Mekong Delta in Vietnam.. these are a rare in the US, and a wild hybrid or type similar to wild betta Sp. Sihanoukville of Cambodia. These fish parents were collected in the Mekong Delta Tributary in Southern Vietnam just south of Cambodia in the region of Long An. . Breeders pick, these photos are examples only and are of the same stock that’s available, my breeder pick pairs are always good quality, I’ll always pick you out a really nice pair, they all look near identical but I only ship the healthiest of fish. These are First generation captive bred wild betta hybrids originating from the Mekong Delta in Vietnam.. The parents of these were wild caught fish from the Mekong Delta in south Vietnam. They are most definitely hybrids or un-described species of the Splendens complex like Sp. Sihanoukville. I can’t say for sure but they seem to have a mix of characteristics similar to Imbellis, with maybe Siamorientalis, Wild Splendens, and likely a fighter type line? That’s me guessing, to me they resemble a large and muscular Imbellis with metallic green fins and the classic Red Crescent tail, but have reduced iridescent on the body like a fighter type , and they are much larger than any wild type would be. these fish change color a lot depending on their mood and have an neutral and aggressive color phase like all other wilds, you need to make sure they have good clean water and environment to see the true brilliance of their colors. They will probably arrive looking very pale and will take a little time to acclimate, these have always been a more skittish or shy batch and love leaf litter and plenty of hides, I suggest low lights with tannins, heavy plant cover, pairs trios and harems can be together if space and environment is adequate, I recommend a lot of botanicals and leaf litter as well as a lid or a heavy cover of floating plants.. these will jump if given the opportunity. . . wild types and hybrids often lose color during the stress of transport and may look much different than their pictures, please give them time to acclimate to their new homes to see their best colors.. I recommend at least a 2.5 gallon tank with heater and filter and heavy live plant cover to bring out the best colors, these types can be a little more finicky and will not be as colorful if something in their environment is off, they love heavily planted High tannin water with little flow.. . Fish may arrive pale colored from shipping stress but will color up shortly after acclimating to their new home, usually within 24 hours.. . . Size is medium/lg 5 months old .
