A cantilever shelf is considered a heavier-duty shelving system for storing bulkier, or heavy items such as a couple gallons of milk and other items. The shelf itself slides out, allowing better access to those items at the back of the shelf. The original OEM part number is 2174042; it is suitable for Whirlpool, Kenmore, and other brands. NOTE: See the second picture we included that shows an example of a Kenmore refrigerator that has two of these slide-out cantilever shelves. Included with your purchase would be the metal frame that attaches to the shelf rack (the racks let you adjust the shelf up or down based on the height of the items being placed on the shelf). Also included is the shelf itself, which attaches securely to the frame, allowing the shelf to slide partially out, providing easy access to items in the back of the shelf. The shelf and frame are made of ABS plastic, glass, and metal. It came out of a Kenmore Coldspot, Model 106.9557682. The shelf assembly weighs about 5 lbs, and it’s measurements are included in the pictures. This replacement part is perfect for those who prefer to fix a bad part rather than buy a new refrigerator.
