Description: This is a terrific HAND SIGNED 9.75 x 12 REG SMYTHE ORIGINAL "ANDY CAPP" PEN AND INK ART DAILY from 1959. Included is an amazing original hand written/hand signed letter from Smythe to the original recipient as well as original mailing envelope (addressed by Smythe himself). This is the original pen and ink artwork that appeared in the paper that day. It signed in the lower right of the fourth square, then signed again at the bottom. I have never seen an Andy Capp original from this era for sale on ebay or anywhere else and know it is quite rare. The item is in great condition, especially considering it is 65 years old. Has a light crease which isn't even noticeable on the front and light curling to the illustration board.
