Restored Grey Parker 51 FP, Vacumatic Filler, Lustraloy Cap

Description: This is a restored vintage Parker 51 Vacumatic Grey from 1948, with a Lustraloy cap, ready to write and with a smooth nib. Please see the photos and full description below. The pen has been fully serviced. It was disassembled, the nib, feed and collector were ultrasonically cleaned and it was manually and lightly polished after covering the imprints and metal parts. A new, correctly sized, diaphragm was installed. After assembling the pen, it was inspected, tested and nib was adjusted for smoothness. It writes nicely, with good flow and should be ready to write for many years. Nib: 14 K gold, it writes a smooth fine-medium, maybe medium line (please, see the writing sample in the last photo. The Squares are 5mm X 5mm).Filling system: Vacumatic filler with new, correctly sized, diaphragm .Size: about 5 3/8 inches (~ 13.7 cm).Body: The plastic is very clean, and there are no cracks or deep scratches (there may be micro-scratches and some light scratches). There is an obvious discoloration of the body compared to the hood and blind cap, as it was common with the grey color 51 Vacumatics.Cap: Lustraloy. The cap is in very good condition without dings or dents. It does have generalized micro-scratches and some light scratches.Clip: there is some brassing to the tip of the clip and some flea bite size marks at the ring of the clip, but still in very good condition. Jewel: Excellent condition.Imprint: The barrel imprint is a little worn, but mostly legible (the "51" is mostly gone). The date code is 4th quarter of 1948 ("8" ).Personal engravings: NONE.
