The button is made of durable, weather-friendly stainless steel. This device can be installed over any single-gang electrical box (not included), or on the surface, in a round surface-mount box (not included). Can be wired directly to most motorized door opener/closer devices, or to your access control system, to trigger a door-opening command through an RTE (request to exit) circuit. Operates as a contact-closure device. Three terminal connections are on the back of the device, for Normally Open, Normally Closed, and Common. Two slide-on lug connectors are included, so that your wiring can easily be attached to the back of the device. Easy-to-follow installation instructions are included. The location and method of installation must be ADA-compliant (Americans with Disabilities Act). The person installing this device should check that the mounting position will be compliant with the ADA, as well as with any local or state ordinances, which may exist, relating to handicapped-access to public buildings or public facilities (like a restroom). Check that the proposed mounting position is at the proper height and location, before installation. Once installed, this device can be pressed with a hand, an elbow, an arm, a hip, a foot, or any other body part, in order to trigger the door to open.
