FROM WIKIPEDIA: Annie Cass, a daughter of Sir John Cass (1832-1898), of Bradford in Yorkshire, Stuff Merchant, Justice of the Peace and Chairman of the Bradford Conservative Association. She married Weetman Pearson, hugely successful industrialist and businessman, 1st Viscount Cowdray. She was a member of the Women's Liberal Federation and supported female suffrage. She also supported causes related to nursing – leading her to be called the fairy godmother of nursing*. She was a Burgess in Aberdeen.
