We have created a range of colors we feel stunning for both new fly tyers and skilled fly tyers alike. Specially designed with a mix of natural and synthetic materials Dirty Bug Yarn was designed resulting from our work with different dubbings. We looked at dubbings in the market and realised many dubbings including our own different types of dubbings were often ‘single color’ dubbings. In reality if you look at a fly or nymph for example a baetis nymph it may be olive in colour but it is usually a mix of colors, nature is not monochromatic or single color. From this we had some of our Pro Team work on what we called ‘Dirty Dubbing’ or blends of colors to make a better fly body whether it be a dry or nymph. From that work Dirty Bug Yarn was born. We took a range of essential dubbing colors and blends suitable for specific families of flies like caddis. Dirty Bug Yarn can be used straight off the spool with twin strands, used as single strands for smaller flies or even broken apart as dubbing.
