Description: Maker: It's indisputable: Limoges says quality. And T&V - Tressemann and Vogt - produced some of the world's finest and most beautiful Limoges porcelain. Design: These 4 lovely coupe soup bowls have an elegant band of finely hand painted green laurels against a white fine porcelain background, in keeping with the exceptionally high quality that made the company's porcelain so famous and so coveted. It's T&V pattern number 5856. Marks and age: The green underglaze "T&V Limoges France" mark number 7, dating the porcelain's production to between 1892 and 1907, appears on the base on each bowl. The magenta decorator's mark number 16 - in use from 1907 to 1919 - and the pattern number 5856 also appear. Since the marks overlap only in 1907, that is likely the year this set was produced. Source: The Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston, third edition. Condition: There are no cracks, chips, nicks, repairs, crazing, stains or discoloration. There are several small dark spots that were created in the manufacturing process and noticeable wear to the gold trim on all 4 bowls - it's shown in the photos. Size: The bowls are 7 5/8 inches wide, 1 1/2 inches tall and together weigh 2 pounds 2 ounces. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
