It can be more difficult to keep the gears alignes as it is only 3mm thick.- 1/4": This is twice as thick as the 1/8" and works the best for most projects. is it about 6mm thick.- 3/8": This is super thick wood. It is about 9MM thick. Please note that the gear size is to the apex of the tooth. It is not tip to tip. The size tip to tip can be a bit larger than the actual gear size. This is laser cut wood. As a result, the edges will have some natural browning. This is a normal part of the cutting process. Wood grain will vary from each piece too. It is wood after all, a natural product!
