Description: Freedom - When? by James Farmer With an introduction by Jacob Cohen New York: Random House 1965 First Edition, First Printing Association copy with a inscription by the author to Jay Richard Kennedy (1911-1991). Jay Richard Kennedy (July 23, 1911 - October 14, 1991) was a multi-talented individual, known for his roles as an author, screenwriter, composer, publisher, and record executive. He also served as an FBI informant and later became Harry Belafonte's business manager. In his sixties, he collaborated with Frank Sinatra. Transitioning in his seventies, Kennedy departed from the entertainment industry and founded a psychotherapy clinic named the Center For Human Problems. However, he faced accusations of practicing psychotherapy without proper licensing in what was described as a cult-like setting. Despite this controversy, he remained committed to leftist causes, eventually advising James Farmer of the Congress of Racial Equality in his later years. Octavo, xxiv, 197 pages, publisher's original pictorial dust jacket with the original price unclipped. Publisher's original silver gilt lettered blue cloth covered boards. Some discoloration to the otherwise nice dust jacket that is now in a protective mylar sleeve. Laid in is a two page prior dealers' catalog description [Bauman Rare Books]. Minimal rubbing, some discoloration, else in very good condition. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and don't forget to check out my other listings.
