Description: In my years of restoring vintage Singers I've never seen one like this. It has barely been used. I don't know it's history, but I'm guessing it was left over inventory from a Singer dealer. Maybe a demo model. The picture of the bottom was taken before any cleaning. It does have some small blemishes like two very small chips on the cam lid and some small scratches on the nose cover, which might not show in the pictures. Amazing for 60 years old. Of course the grease in the motor top bearing had turned to sludge over the years so I rebuilt it with a new top bearing and lubricated the bottom bearing also. The bottom bearing is a porous bronze plain bearing that holds oil, but after many years the oil is dead and gone. Keep it oiled up and it might last forever. Seriously, these are amazing machines and cost over the equivalent of $5000 in todays money. It has been thoroughly serviced and tested and is just waiting to find a good home. Once I got everything properly adjusted and ran the machine in it sews almost as quite as a 201. The bottom cover screw and pad come with it as does the reconditioned foot control and the power cord. It just needs a good home and I need to downsize.
