Description: Here you have a pair of 1971 ARCHIVAL WIRE PHOTOS of the SOYUZ 10 MISSION. One shows the launch from BAIKONUR SPACE COMPLEX, launched on 22 April 1971 as the world's first mission to the world's first space station, the Soviet Salyut 1. The docking was not successful and the crew, VLADIMIR SHATALOV, ALEKSEI YELISYEV, and NIKOLAI RUKAYISHNIKOV, returned to Earth without having entered the station. It would be the first of numerous docking failures in the Soviet space station program. The second shot shows the three cosmonauts... This is a pair of glossy archival wire prints from the EUGENE REGISTER-GUARD newspaper. These are 8 X 11 and are in excellent condition. These are glossy prints that were made when the press service image came across the wires. Usually, the glossy would be used for the actual printing of the newspaper and then would be discarded. The Register-Guard’s photographer instead made a habit of keeping these prints. This pair has been in a box for half a century. Take them home with you. GOOD LUCK! Please Check Out My Ebay Store for more great memorabilia, including more space exploration photos! I am happy to send this to any country. 1st class international air postage will be charged. IF YOU ARE OVERSEAS AND BUY MULTIPLE IMAGES PLEASE WAIT UNTIL I SEND YOU AN INVOICE TO SAVE ON POSTAGE. More excellent packaging and free shipping here in the United States! THANKS! 06212
