Original Post: Enamored with the classic Revell 1/96 Saturn V kit that stands almost 4 feet tall since a kid, I thought how great it would be for Revell to release it for the new SLS/Orion rocket. A kit this size will most likely never be made...........so I decided to make one myself. Let me start off by saying, I am not a master modeler or craftsman, so if you are looking for a "Smithsonian Made" kit, this is not for you. I had to take some liberties, but I still think this came out as a very impressive version for a space enthusiast's office or man cave. Please note, you are bidding on the one SLS rocket pictured in photo #1, not the display case....that is my completed SLS but wanted to show what you can do with this model. Using parts from the Revell 1/96 Apollo Saturn V kit, I use a 3D printed Orion capsule and LES, booster nose cone and engine skirt, this one of a kind 4 ft model of the SLS/Orion rocket makes for a nice representation of NASA's new heavy lift Space Launch System. As seen in the pictures, the original launch display platform was also used. Again, the photo in the display case is from my collection, the glass case and the Launch Tower backdrop and LED flame effect is not included but shows how you can display the finished model.
