PRODUCT BACKGROUND INFORMATION The Swiss publisher Editions Rencontre from Lausanne published an extensive sports card set by subscription at the end of the 1970s. The trading cards were issued in several languages ??or in different country editions and are therefore probably the largest collection set for different sports. The cards are 12 x 16 cm in size. The respective country editions have different numbering or country codes. The cards were offered in the following countries: North America (country code 03005), England (country code 13064), France (country code 16265), Germany (country code 17033), Sweden (country code 47021), Finland (no country code), Italy (country code 833 ), Belgium / Netherlands (country code 0086,1030) The trading card set covers a wide range of sports including athletics, baseball, football, basketball, hockey, boxing, karate, Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, figure skating, speed skating, scuba diving, cricket, tennis, golf, boxing, cycling, car and motorcycle racing, Rugby, Equestrian etc. The subscription card set was mailed to buyers in "decks" every few weeks. The cards were never available in stores. Since 1979, all are out of print. In Germany there seems to be no collector yet. This is different in North America, where the cards are also partially listed in the Beckett catalogs. In English-speaking countries, the cards are known as Sportcaster Cards or as "Focus on Sports Cards".
