Description: St Hildegard of Bingen Single Decade Rosary This pretty chaplet is dedicated to St Hildegard of Bingen. It has a new nickel silver 7/8" medal that shows the saint seated as she is illustrated in old medieval texts, with the words "Pray for Us" and "Italy" on the reverse. Medal is made in Italy as is the silver-toned 1-3/4" San Damiano crucifix which has one half of the Prayer of Peace by St Francis on the reverse. The chaplet itself was designed and handmade by me in our home in the USA. The eleven beads are all 8 mm. The Our Father bead is a smooth, round, genuine Amethyst gemstone. The ten Hail Mary beads are faceted and fire-polished Czech glass in alternating olivine green and lilac colors. She has been made a Doctor of the Church by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012, although she has been considered a saint by Catholics for centuries as well as by some Anglicans and Lutherans. A highly educated woman who, in addition to her church duties, wrote medicinal, botanical and theological texts; poems and composed liturgical songs.
