Description: U.S.S.Enterprise- Dproduced by Galoobassingle die-cast model based on StarTrek: TNG,featured in the series. Thiswas the first die-cast metal product made by Galoob. The model wasextremely accurate, capturing the correct shape of the ship with itslarge, oval saucer section and short secondary hull and enginenacelles. Itwas painted in very pale blue (it’soriginal color of release)The tips of the nacelles are touched in with red paint, and there isa large amount of applied red and gold trim. ‘USS ENTERPRISE’ andfleet number ‘NCC-1701-D’ are tampo-printed on the top of theprimary hull in dark blue. Theworking ‘action feature’ involves the removable saucer section.Two“sections”fittogether so well that if you aren’t aware you’d probably nevernotice that the saucer could be detached. Thedisconnectismanual,simply by lifting and pulling the saucer, and they clip back togetherjust as easily. Thisitem comes in it’s original blister card, which was unusual forsuch a large, heavy model in it’s day. Andit’s not particularly an easy find, given that it is over 25 yearsold, and was not in production for long. Theitems box shows some normal signs of wear from storage and time.
