Description: TEXAS ESTATE FIND VICTORIAN NEWEL POST We offer a Victorian wooden newel post acquired from a central Texas home. The post measures 44" in height, 7 3/4" square at the top and 9 1/4" square at the base. The post is squared with three divisions decorated with applied wooden panels. The central division features chamfered corners. The newel post cap is carved with a dome from a single panel of wood which has cupped from age. Small loss of edge below the cap. One upper panel has loss possibly where a stair case banister was attached.
