Davenport Adams and illustrated throughout by the French artist Hector Giacomelli (1822-1904), who specialised in paintings of birds. 210 Illustrations 340 pages, 1869. In good to very good condition. Binding of text block is firm and tight. Back cover is detached, but present, front cover hinge is partially split (cloth is weak and frayed.) Cloth on both covers, and spine is worn and frayed. All pages clean and unmarked, (except for a faint penciled gift inscription date 1869.) No loose, torn or missing pages.
