Description: Italian designer and artist Bruno Munari crafted Circus in the Mist in 1968, originally in Italian. This copy features black illustrations printed on translucent paper, and other non-translucent pages with cutouts. This work transcends being merely a children’s book to become an interactive play object. As seen in the photos, this is Ex-Libris, with a paged repaired and a couple more with hairline tears. The book comprises 26 sheets of paper (52 unnumbered pages) crafted from tracing paper, evoking a poetic essence of mist. As the pages are turned, the city of Milan gradually unveils itself through the translucent layers: its trees, lights, cars, motorcycles, fire hydrants, bridges, and beyond. With each turn, the mist on the right dissipates, revealing more of the city, while the preceding images gradually fade from view on the left-hand pages.
