Description: The Death Of A President Nov. 20-25, 1963, this 710-page hard cover book with dust jacket was written by William Manchester after conducting about 1,000 interviews; compiling 45 volumes & portfolios of shorthand notes, transcribed tapes, documents, & exhibits; & writing a 1,200-page, 350,000-word manuscript working 12 to 15 hours a day from Feb. 6, 1964, to March 25, 1966. He was not paid by the government or the Kennedy family, but received a small advance from the publisher.
