Description: The Mind Of Kierkegaard by James Collins PB GC GC: Good = Has been read and handled a fair bit. Bending and creasing, maybe some chipping and or minor staining on the cover. Full Title: The Mind Of Kierkegaard Author: James Collins ISBN: Does not apply Category: Philosophy Pages: 308 Illustrations: No Format: Paperback Publisher: Gateway Year: 1965 Condition notes: Well-thumbed but no damage, binding firm, no marks apart from two owners' names inside front cover. Remarkably solid for a paperback book nearly sixty years old. Probably has sixty more years in it. Author Notes: James Daniel Collins, Ph.D (1917-1985) was a graduate of the Catholic University of America and after a year as a research fellow at Harvard accepted an appointment at St. Louis University, where he remained until his death. Aside from Kierkegaard, he also wrote books on Spinoza, the existentialist philosophers, and the problem of God in philosophy. This book is unusual for books about Kierkegaard in that it does not focus on his biography but instead on the philosophical influences that led Kierkegaard to think as he did. Published in 1953, it is a little dated in that it relies on translations since which an entire new generation of Kierkegaard translations has appeared as well as much literature, but its approach is still very sound and useful. It was reprinted up through the 1980s and is, I believe, still available from Princeton as a print-on-demand book if you're willing to pay $$$. My books will have some evidence of having been handled or read, what are called 'reading copies' by collectors. I do not represent any books as having collectible value. Books may have previous owners' data written inside cover or on flyleaf. Some will be old with age-related discolorations or slight bending; none are cracked, falling apart, have torn or missing pages or writing or underlining inside pages UNLESS I mention it in "Condition Notes." Photos are of the actual book you will get, not stock photos. Inspect pictures and contact me if you have any questions. All guaranteed to be in readable condition. All come from pet-free/smoke-free environment. PLEASE read ALL following information to prepare for a smooth and satisfactory transaction. DELIVERY: Item will be shipped via USPS Media Mail. HANDLING TIME: Thanks to eBay's new 'managed payment' system, handling time for all orders is now FIVE business days, meaning up to five days before it goes to the Post Office. I don't like it, you don't like it, but it is what it is. I do not ship on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays. I now ship books inside the United States only. POSTAGE COST: Shipping cost on books is FREE unless otherwise noted. COMBINED SHIPPING: For your convenience, I offer combined shipping IF you purchase multiple items at once, to be sent to the same address. NOTE that I offer this for convenience, not for saving money. THIS WILL NOT NECESSARILY SAVE MONEY.It may save money, it might not; it might even make shipping more expensive. If you want me to look into whether combined shipping will save you money or not, I will be happy to do so. I have no incentive to cheat on this because whatever I collect for postage goes straight through my hands to the Post Office; I don't get to keep an extra penny. In winter months (late November through February), adverse weather may cause delays in shipping. I will do my best to advise you if this is happening or appears that it will happen while your order is in process. PAYMENT: Payment is expected within three days of purchase/winning item. If you cannot pay within that time, please contact me to make arrangements, or I will report the transaction to eBay as Non-Paying Bidder and the item will be relisted. PACKAGING: Clean reused, recycled, or repurposed packing materials may be used unless otherwise specified in listing. RETURNS: My stated eBay policy is No Returns. But if an item doesn't work for you, you can return it if you pay the postage and it's undamaged (still looks same as listing pictures). If there is a fault with the item not mentioned in the listing, contact me for resolution. Checkout Instruction: On behalf of your State of residence, eBay may collect a sales tax on the transaction. This is automatic. There is nothing I can do about it.
