My grading scale includes Near Mint (looks like it was just bought and close to flawless), Very Fine (almost Near Mint, but just misses), Fine (too nice to be called only "Very Good," but not quite in the VF-NM category), Very Good (shows evidence of handling and has notable flaws but none are disastrously awful), Good (more flawed, still a solid book for reading but that's about it), Fair (big problems) and Poor (horrible condition, trash it after reading it).
