Description: The USBORNE Science Encyclopedia With over 180 QR Links and over 1,000 internet links. I'm listing the book as in 'Good' condition. As you can clearly see from the pictures, it's better than that. At least VG. Some of these online thrift stores would list it as 'Like New'. Maybe it is. This is what I see. Cover is very, lightly worn (and I mean lightly). Some miniscule rounding of the 4 corner edges from putting on a shelf. The edging of the cover is slightly roughed. Again, it's not much. If the cover was the only thing being graded, what I just described dropped it from 'like new' to 'very good'. The cover looks fine-it has light use on it. The pages look amazing. They have not been touched. There is no writing, highlighting or anything of that nature on them. There are no bent pages or ripped pages. They are CLEAN. My problem with all these books of this type (big and heavy) for high school/middle school/grade school, and why I won't list it as 'like new' or even 'VG', is that to keep costs down, they aren't built to last. Don't misunderstand me-it's a beautiful book. I like it enough to keep one on my shelf-it's that interesting and obviously very popular based on the sales ranking. I promise you, it probably won't last one year in the hands of a child or even a teenager. They fall apart. That's just the way it is. I know, I'm a terrible salesman, but know what you are buying. If you can get a year or 2 out of it-buy it. If you are going to give it to Jr. to throw around in his closet-you are wasting your money. That's my 2 cents on it. The pictures you see are of the book you will receive. I have 2 but I'm thinking of keeping one for myself. It is a beautiful book and it's content is very interesting...even for an adult. I see all kinds of mega thrift and online bookstores are also listing it with their ONE generic, stock photo and even blander book description. If it's been in a thrift store-it's not like new or in 'very good' condition. I'll ship it in a box where it's protected. Most of the others will send it off in a poly mailer to save a buck. That will damage a book like this. If you aren't happy with it, return it no questions asked before the 30 days are up. Someone will find a use for it or I'll donate to my local middle school....I'm not going to lose any sleep over $20+ Thanks for considering...
