Description: In Japanese, Tonbo means dragonfly, and the art of Tonbo-dama (meaning “dragonfly’s eye”) is a “by hand” process of bead-making. These earrings were probably mass manufactured for the tourist trade. They seem so contemporary, but were probably made in the 1960’s. The clip-on closures are brass and look like they have age to them. I like that they are simple and spare, but have the touches of color from the millefiori. Update your jewelry collection for summer!
