Tractor Zaporozhets, 1921 The issue of the Zaporozhets Tractor stamp is dedicated to the centenary of the first mass-produced three-wheeled tractor in Ukraine. A prototype was produced in 1921, and mass production began in 1923 at the Chervonyi Prohres plant (Velykyi Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia Oblast). At the time, the Zaporozhets tractor was one of the best tractors available: it had a simple design, ran on cheap oil of any quality, and could be repaired even in a village smithy. By 1926, more than 500 tractors had been produced. Some of the Zaporozhets were in service for thirty years or more.
