By inserting 20 ga. shells in every other slot, it becomes the perfect holder for your 20 ga. single shot! After installing your cheek pad, you will have to notch the shell holder to affix it to the stock. Pictures provided below. The shell holder has 2 pieces. One side is the actual shell holder and the other is a Velcro patch with a special 3M adhesive for your stock. This actually allows you to remove the shells and store safely when not hunting. You could notch the cheek pad, but I preferred to notch the back of the shell holder that affixes to the stock. Note the corner of the shell holder is not affixed to the stock (it lays over the cheek pad) when you trim the holder instead of the cheek pad. But it has not caused me any hassles doing it this way. These gloves were designed to hold your mouth calls in separate pouches, while allowing you to carry a piece of chalk and scotch brite pad at the same time.
