Description: This unusual soup or punch ladle is only 9 5/8" long but has a 3 1/2' oval bowl and a very deep curve to the handle making it particularly attractive and handy. Because of its size, it could used for stews or sauces It was made in Philadelphia in the mid 1800's by James Watts & bears his distinctive mark - a horse head over a shield within a cartouche. Bechtel & Eno were the retail firm. Their mark plus Philada is simply incised It is in excellent condition with 4 barely visible dints toward the edge of the bowl & no other flaws. The name Fannie in nicely engraved on the handle. It weighs 99 grams / 3.1 troy oz.
